STARLUX Airlines to start Jakarta service – Business Traveller

STARLUX Airlines from Taiwan will add a five-weekly Taipei-Jakarta route from 1 September 2024.

From Taipei, the flights will depart every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 0810, arriving at Jakarta Soekarno Hatta airport at 1230 following a flight time of five hours and 20 minutes.

From Jakarta, the STARLUX flights will return to Taipei’s Taoyuan airport at 1330, landing back in the Taiwanese capital at 2010.

STARLUX will deploy an Airbus A321neo on the Jakarta route, with eight lie-flat business class seats in a 2-2 configuration, and 180 3-3 configured economy class seats.

The airline will become the third Taiwanese full-service carrier to operate Taipei-Jakarta flights. Both China Airlines (CAL) and EVA Air fly to Jakarta multiple times a day with larger widebody aircraft.

STARLUX commenced operations in January 2020 and has since built a fleet of 22 aircraft, with many more on order.

The airline currently has 13 A321neos, with six more confirmed to join its fleet going forward.

On its longer routes, STARLUX operates new-technology A350-900 and soon A350-1000 aircraft, as well as A330neos.

The carrier recently also announced a new double daily service from its Taipei base to Hong Kong, commencing this summer with the A350-900 and A330neo fleet.
