Gatwick’s ibis hotel set to reopen following renovation – Business Traveller

Accor’s ibis property close to Gatwick airport is nearing the end of renovation works, and is set to reopen next month.

The ibis London Gatwick Airport closed in 2021 following a fire at the premises, after which owner Starboard Hotels decided to embark on a full renovation programme.

Business Traveller received a press release from Accor detailing forthcoming properties in Europe, in which the Gatwick hotel was briefly mentioned.

The Starboard Hotels website confirms that a fifth floor has been added to the property, as well as an extension to the front to make space for more rooms, and the building’s lifts have been replaced.

Meanwhile Accor’s webpage for the hotel states that the property has been “totally transformed for 2024 through top-to-bottom renovation”.

Going forward the hotel will be known as the ibis Styles London Gatwick Airport.

There has been no official confirmation as to when the hotel will reopen, but Accor is currently taking reservations from 22 April.

The hotel is located on London Road, around 3.5 miles from Gatwick airport.

Business Traveller will report further on the reopening when more information becomes available.
